Not sure life could not get better. Lazy Saturday with football and more football. Rainy day but stopped just long enough so that I could get coffee and pumpkin ice cream. And just added a few new albums to the music collection for some listening tomorrow. Glorious.
"Let me put it this way, there’s only a certain portion of your life that will be golden, the proximity of which is like the physical body of a girl you have a hopeless crush on - when she’s there, you’re useless, so don’t try to do anything. You only figure this out once you’re old enough though, when the information doesn’t do you any good. The best you can do is be very very still and let things pass by you without thinking about them too much, blunting your overactive imagination against walls of your tomb as it’s being built, brick by brick, until you are just nothing, the blue sweet melted dregs of a snowcone at the bottom of a styrofoam cup, tilted back, touching the lips, then gone, forever."
Finished Dan Brown’s new book, The Lost Symbol, on Sunday morning. And by that I mean I was up until 5:30 am from the night before finishing it in one sitting. The book was made just that much better being that I have lived in DC for three years now and could recognize almost everything he referenced. And the same awe that the main character felt while running around the city is the same awe I feel everyday. It has not gone away after three years. And I don’t expect it to. I love this city.
